Ashlee Connors has a voice that melts you as you listen to it. I loved creating with her because her demeanor always comes across on stage perfectly no matter what. In 2020 Ashlee became the 14th ranked female poet in the world earning that title at the Women of the World Slam competition in Dallas Tx!

Lee Chapman
Poet:
Lee is considered by many to be an alien and the far reaches of which he is willing to go to bring forth words is remarkable. He has done work with numerous entities including “The Black on Black Project” and has released his first book Flux & The Void (of which I have a signed copy). Lee is currently heavily involved with turning Dix Park in Raleigh NC into a work of art the city can be proud of. Only God knows what is ahead for Lee. Whatever it is I will be front and center to witness.

This Husband and Wife duo are some of the most likeable poets I’ve met. Lady Cotten is not only that but she will get uncomfortable and be exceptionally humble to make sure that when she is on stage there is no doubt left in anyone’s mind that she was there. King Cotten always seems sure of himself and has a calm about him that could aid any performer to learn. Separate they are great, together there are greater.

The first time I saw him perform I was beside myself wondering what was inside of this man that worked together in cohesiveness the way that it did to have his poems hit my soul they way that they did. He is the number one ranked SLAM poet in the world right now and nothing about that is a fluke.

What I didn’t know while hearing her pour her heart out through her poetry is that this woman is actually a comedian on the low! There is so much to love about Ayanna and when those lights come on and she adjusts her glasses you better be ready for a show. DS Will lives in Raleigh, NC by way of New Jersey and is currently the Raleigh Film Festival Department Head of poetry as well as a contributing writer for Suave Magazine.
“Pardon My Ashes” is a poetic play that DS created, directed, co-starred in. The work and collaboration of that show was something that I absolutely loved!
DS and myself also co-wrote a poem that was turned into a commercial. The poem was for the clothing line brand African American the Beautiful Co and titled “Ascension” which was a first of its kind collaboration for myself. His creativity knows no bounds.

Watson has a way of telling a story that leaves me spellbound every single time. He has a book titled Haunted Houses Broken Homes, an album with the same title (the best poetry album I have ever heard btw), and a way about him while performing that you can never forget. Our collabs have turned into not just a business relationship but also a personal friendship. If I would have died on stage during the performance of Stranger Fruit I believe in all my heart that God wouldn't have been able to turn me away from heavens gates while Imony was still singing. I have never heard a singing voice like hers.. ever.. and when you add in her poetry you have a combination that is very powerful indeed. Imony has opened for Poets In Autumn and has performed at the 2018 BET Weekend Celebration. Scary thing is she hasn’t even began to tap into her potential yet…

I do not take for granted for one second the fact that I got to work with Dasan. Someone of his caliber and stature changes everything.
